(NASHVILLE, TENN.) -- Agency for the Performing Arts (APA), Inc. has announced the signing of Kevin Max,
one of Christian music's most recognizable voices. The deal includes representation in all areas of the entertainment
industry, including television, motion pictures, concerts and tours, personal appearances and more. APA has offices in Beverly Hills, New York City and Nashville, where the talent agency recently announced the launch of their Christian Music Division. APA is the third major agency, along with William Morris and CAA, to offer a division dedicated solely to booking artists in the Christian music marketplace.
As one third of the group dc Talk, Max accrued album sales exceeding 8 million, as well as numerous Grammy and Dove Awards. In recent years, he has released several critically acclaimed solo projects, and he has continued to tour worldwide. On December 26th, Max returns with his latest recording, The Blood - a very personal project that allowed him to step back from his usual rock stylings in favor of a musical exploration of Gospel. This deliberate departure features high profile collaborations with an extraordinary cast, including Vince Gill, Amy Grant, American Idol finalist Chris Sligh, Erica Campbell (of Mary Mary), Joanne Cash and others, including the long-anticipated reunion of dcTalk (featuring Max, Michael Tait and TobyMac).
Mark Guynn, who oversees the Christian division for APA, states: “When I listened to Kevin's upcoming album, The Blood, I realized that this is not just another album. It's a moment in time. We are ecstatic to represent Kevin Max, and firmly believe that this new album is a career record.”
"I appreciate the vision and dedication of APA," says Max. "They are dedicated to the details and vision of the artist, and I am encouraged by Mark Guynn's ability to think outside the box."
Infinity Music Distribution will release The Blood through a unique partnership with Max's Blind Thief Publishing. An aggressive promotional campaign will include various retail promotions, national television appearances, a radio promo tour and heavy concert touring including a church tour currently being scheduled. The first radio single, "Run On for a Long Time" (featuring Chris Sligh), is going for adds at radio now.
Max is managed by TJ Rogers of Nashville-based Through the Looking Glass Entertainment.
